Craig Tablet Drivers
Yes it does help, thanks. Looks like there's some information here about rooting the CMP741E.appears to be rather complex though. Remont pusko zaryadnoe ustrojstvo dubna m 62. I think 'iPad' is becoming a rather genericized trademark for when referring to tablets. It often happens here. I knew many people, including my father, would say 'iPod' when talking about any MP3 player, whether they were made by Apple or not.
Or saying 'Walkman' when talking about personal stereos in general, even Chinese school textbooks do this. I would always hoover the carpet, even though my vacuum cleaner wasn't actually made by Hoover. The Craig is not actually a Chinese knock off in the true sense of it being an Apple iPad knock-off. It's a legitimate Android tablet sold by reputable US importer. Click to expand.I've had something similar happen with my Ampe A76, which most definitely is a Chinese tablet from Shenzhen. Did a bit more investigating, and found that the tablet's default browser user agent string is 'Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS 3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.21.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.4 Mobile/7B334b Safari/531.21.10' It's pretending it's an Apple iPad. Can you find out what the user agent string is for your Craig.
It would be interesting to know if it is pretending to be an Apple iPad. I'm trying to ascertain why Facebook would ask you to download Apple iPad app, rather than the Android FB app. I've had sites doing it as well, asking me if I wanted to install their Apple iPad apps rather than the correct Android apps. I found out that it's tablet's browser that is lying, rather than correctly identifying itself as Android.
Want to know if any other devices are doing this. Going to.will tell you what the browser user agent string is. The user agent string is what tells a website what device it is, and how best to deal with it. If I use my PC, I get. Your IP Address is xxxxxxxxxx Country of origin: China Your Browser User Agent String is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1229.94 Safari/537.4 Which is correct for a Windows 7 PC with the Google Chrome browser. Thought I could contribute to this tread with how I rooted the tablet and installed Play Store, 'cause is stupid easy (at least on my PC.) I used the first link that mikedt posted earlier in the thread. But on that posting the OP dedicated only one paragraph on the installation process, so here is a little more info on the process.
First, there is apparently no ROMs for this device, although I haven't search too much. For a $50 device the Play Store was plenty for me (Netflix, Angry Birds etc.) As for the steps, first the tablet device drivers need to be installed so the computer can see it. Do a search for: ' Drivers_AllwinnerA10_32and64.zip' the first link on google was good enough for me. These are just the drivers, not an installer. So if you have no experience with raw drivers you might want to look up how to install them. (My computer would only see the tablet if it was connected via USB directly, meaning no USB hub.) Next, find ' Rootthat-ICS' off the internets.
After unzipping the RootThat file folder find the 'windowstart' batch file and run it. (I've found that RootThat crashes upon first launch but works after ending it and relaunching.) In the RootThat menu click the 'root device' button. Simple prompt with only one choice appears, follow it, then wait for the success message in RootThat's output box. Then, click the 'Install Gapps' button, follow the simple prompt again, then wait for the Output box to give the success message (takes a couple seconds longer.) Done. I've completed this on 5 Craig CMP741e tablets (good deal at wally world) with same results. I'm new to this forum and don't plan on being too active except where I can passively contribute so my engagement on this might not be too in-depth but I hope this works for you.
